Ducklings Stuck In Storm Drain Rescued On Long Island

You can call them lucky ducklings. Four baby ducks that got stuck in a storm drain were rescued in Amityville.

Police officers were called Monday, June 26 to the parking lot of 349 Broadway for a report of ducklings stuck in a drain.

The department's officers Eric Kreuder and Collin Mullin responded as well as New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Chris DeRose and found the brood stuck in the drain with their mother nearby, said police.

Assisted by the Amityville Department of Public Works Supervisor Bruce Hopper the rescuers were able to open the storm drain and reunite the ducklings with their mother.
